After a 17-year absence, the American Veterans Traveling Tribute Vietnam Wall is returning to Topeka this month. The traveling wall, which is 360 feet long and 8 feet tall, is an 80 percent scale version of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. and contains the 58,286 names of those who died in the war that are etched on the wall in the nation’s capital. Troop Train – Honoring the life of American Hero’s

  Participants will meet at 8am at the Gage Park amphitheater for a one mile march through Gage Park, followed by a ceremony at 10am, and concluding with the first troop departure of WWII Veterans on the mini-train at 11am. The public is encouraged to line the mini-train tracks holding a flag or a sign, and to bring toiletries and nonperishable food items to be donated to the Quincy House.
